Holistic. Rejuvenating. Healing.
Malasana (Garland Pose) is a little known but very beneficial pose in Yoga. I get into this pose several times daily.  As a result I have noticed positive changes in my body. Watch young toddlers, this is a pose that they easily get into when playing with toys on the floor. Malasana (Garland Pose) can actually improve your posture, stretch your back, elasticize your knees and ankles, and help improve your digestive function. Take precautions when getting into this pose.  Honor your practice and your body to avoid injury. Initially getting all the way down may be daunting, but consistent practice will prove to be helpful.

Pose Benefits

  • Stretches back muscles
  • Stretches groins and back torso
  • Increases hip mobility

If you find that you aren’t able to get into this pose right away, there are some modifications that will help. Use a block or set your back against a wall. For more support, roll up a mat or blanket, and place it under your heels.
