“Opportunities don’t happen you create them”

That quote actually may have nothing to do with this post, but it is Monday! Be motivated, and create opportunities! Given most of us have to remain at home, what opportunities are you creating for yourself today? For me, I will be updating my online shop with new products! I do hope that you will help me get the word out, and also support me by buying something.

It feels like it has been a while since I massaged someone. Are your bodies aching, or your mood feeling a bit off? You probably could use a massage right now. Unfortunately, our state board and the state of California has stated that we are to shut our business down while we try to get Covid-19 under control. When the ban is lifted, I have dreams of massage parties, yoni steam parties, yoga parties, massage/yoni steam/yoga parties. I dream of Apavarga! Another thing I am considering is offering virtual yoga sessions. Let us just go ahead, and set those up because anxiety and stress is real. Yoga can definitely help with both of those and more! If you would be interested joining a virtual yoga session with me, leave a comment!

What is life behind the rona lines?

It has only been a week since people have been encouraged to work from home. Thankfully I have a full back yard and a garden that I can retreat to. Seasonal allergies aren’t taking a break, so every morning I wake up worried that I may have contracted the coronavirus. A couple of vitamin C tablets later, and all appears to be well. However, while we wait to see if the vitamin C boosts my histamine fighting cells, I self quarantine. That is probably the biggest pain right now for me. According to the allergen count, my area is moderate for tree and grass pollen.

A New Daily Schedule

I wrote down a new daily schedule for myself while we are under this stay at home order. I started trying to follow it on Saturday through to now. Given I didn’t make a schedule for the weekend, I was really following my weekday routines. Here is what a typical week day is set to look like for me.

  • 5:00 AM – Blog Update 🙌🏽
  • 6:00 AM – Exercise and meditation
  • 7:00 AM – Shower and Breakfast
  • 8:00 AM – Work on the Website
  • 9:00 AM – Work from home
  • 4:30 PM – Garden Time (possibly with the family!)
  • 5:30 PM – Dinner and (more) Family Time
  • 7:30 PM – Clean up
  • 8:15 PM – Nightly pampering routine and Shower
  • 9:15 PM – To bed to bed

Since we have been having rain, Garden Time may not always happen. Garden time can just as easily be converted to creativity time. We will see how it goes.

Let’s make this agile

In software development, there is this concept of being agile. Implementing it correctly gets you to complete work more efficiently. One methodology for doing this is SCRUM. There are a set of rituals, one being a daily stand up. At the daily stand up you ask three (3) questions:

  • What did you do yesterday?
  • What will you do today?
  • Are you blocked?

I will set daily goals, and report back if I was able to accomplish them. Today’s goal is to get the shop updated with new products, post at least one idea to social media (IG and Facebook), and to follow the schedule above. Have you made a schedule for your new life at home? If you haven’t done so, I would encourage you to. Are you setting daily goals for yourself? Do share what some of your goals are in the comments below.

Namaste
