The power to reclaim your health lies within you. Harness it, nurture it, and let it shine.
What's going on?
Stated simply, life is what's been going on. From attending various trainings for additional certifications, moving to a new location, getting the new location up, and just trying to establish my new normal, I have neglected aspects of my self care. This is especially troublesome because I strongly believe in the importance of taking care of yourself as a whole. While I didn't entirely abandon all aspects of my self care, I did allow some not so great habits to take root. I have noticed my allergies have been more intense, my weight has yo-yo'ed, I am feeling increased pain and inflammation about my body, and I even slowed down on some of the activities that I truly enjoy. Such a sudden change has caused a lot of stress on my body, and It is showing.
What are we going to do about it?
While it is quite easy to make excuses for what has happened, and what has led me to be in the position I find myself in today... it is more productive to focus on what I plan on doing about it. Part of the reason for writing this blog was to be transparent with everyone, and to hopefully inspire others to take their health into their own hands, and make the changes needed to achieve total health. The approach I am taking is multi-faceted, and this blog focuses on the nutrition side of my journey. My plan is to update this blog regularly (see table below) that will share what I decided to eat for the day over the next 4 weeks. I am planning on sticking with the Raw 'til 4 approach. I am working on a lifestyle reset that aligns more closely with how my lifestyle was prior to all of the "interruptions". Not only was I eating mostly raw until 4:00pm, but I am also going to be more structured around when I eat foods, and when I allow my body to fast.
What is Raw 'til 4?
Raw 'til 4 (RT4) is a dietary approach that I find really intriguing and have been exploring recently. It's all about enjoying raw, plant-based foods until 4 p.m. and then having a delicious cooked, plant-based meal for dinner. I love the idea behind Raw 'til 4, as it focuses on nourishing your body with nutrient-dense and hydrating raw foods during the day. It typically involves indulging in fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouts for breakfast and lunch. Then, for dinner, I get to savor a comforting cooked meal that often includes whole grains, legumes, and steamed vegetables. I believe that by following this eating pattern, I'm providing my body with essential nutrients and enzymes while promoting optimal health. It's been an exciting journey, and I've noticed increased energy levels, improved digestion, and even some weight loss. Previously, Raw 'til 4 has been an enjoyable and health-conscious adventure for me, and I look forward to this next round of it.
