Full Flower Moon Hike
May 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
Immerse yourself in the abundance of spring under the Full Flower Moon. As its name suggests, this moon shines down on a world erupting in blossoms, when meadows are lush and life is in full flourish. We’ll take a celebratory hike up Cowles Mountain, passing through fragrant brush and enjoying the longer, gentle evening. From the summit, we’ll watch this fertile, beautiful moon rise over the landscape, a fitting tribute to the peak of spring’s glory. Bring a friend, water, and a headlamp to enjoy this floral-themed night adventure.
What to Bring & Know:

- Essential Lighting: A headlamp or flashlight with fresh batteries is mandatory for the hike down.
- Proper Footwear: Sturdy hiking shoes or boots with good traction are required for the rocky and sometimes slippery trail.
- Layered Clothing: Temperatures can drop significantly. Dress in moisture-wicking layers you can add or remove, and consider a windproof or insulated jacket for the summit.
- Hydration & Snacks: Bring plenty of water and a light snack or energy bar to enjoy at the top.
- Recommended Gear: Trekking or hiking poles are highly recommended for added stability, especially on the descent.
- Optional Extras: Consider a small backpack, a fully charged phone, and a camera to capture the view.
