We will once again be hitting up the Pio Pico Trail (Otay Mountain via Minnewawa and Otay Truck Trail). We did this hike earlier this year some time around March, and it was beautiful!! We will be heading up at 4:30 AM to try to get ahead of the sun. There is only a single tree on the trail up…. yes you read that correctly… ONE SINGLE Tree where you can hope to get some shade while on this hike, so dress accordingly, bring water to stay hydrated, and wear the comfortable shoes.
