Why is this trail helpful then? Well it gives us about 6 miles for 1 round. For the 5 peaks challenge\, we need to get use to hiking long distances between the mountains\, and Lake Murray is a nice fill in for that need. \nWe will be starting early\, so be sure to bring light (headlamp)\, and dress appropriately for the weather. \nParking: We meet up near the Lake Murray Park side of the lake\, so the address for the venue gets you right in front of where we will be meeting up at. \nFrom All Trails: \nDiscover this 5.7-mile out-and-back trail near La Mesa\, California. Generally considered an easy route\, it takes an average of 1 h 43 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding\, fishing\, and road biking\, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome\, but must be on a leash.

For those who have been hiking for some time\, this hike will still present some challenges\, and you can always run up to the top if you want an even bigger challenge. \nWe will be on this trail many mornings during the month of October. SUMMARY:Hiking San Diego: Lake Murray
DESCRIPTION:Lake Murray is a gem in San Diego that is especially helpful as we prepare for the “Couch to 5 Peaks” challenge! It is an out and back trail\, and is pretty easy. Why is this trail helpful then? Well it gives us about 6 miles for 1 round. For the 5 peaks challenge\, we need to get use to hiking long distances between the mountains\, and Lake Murray is a nice fill in for that need. \nWe will be starting early\, so be sure to bring light (headlamp)\, and dress appropriately for the weather. \nParking: We meet up near the Lake Murray Park side of the lake\, so the address for the venue gets you right in front of where we will be meeting up at. \nFrom All Trails: \nDiscover this 5.7-mile out-and-back trail near La Mesa\, California. Generally considered an easy route\, it takes an average of 1 h 43 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding\, fishing\, and road biking\, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome\, but must be on a leash.

This is a very popular area for hiking\, and it is open all year round. \nWith us starting this hike at 4:30\, be sure to bring a light (headlamp)\, and dress appropriately for the weather. \nNote: If you plan on joining\, be sure to message us to let us know.
